the item was just as described but not genuine scolecite. it felt hollow and light so being curious I picked at the chip and broke it in half. the middle was made of clay or dirt colored material and the outer layer was made of several layers of lacquer. with as much care as the shop owner took to carefully package and follow up with her item I know she could not have known it was fake.
